NATIONAL OPEN, LAS VEGAS

International Grandmaster Ron W. Henley has won  numerous chess events in Colombia, Indonesia, Mexico, Switzerland, and the United States. Throughout the 1990's he was Chief Trainer of Twelfth World Champion Anatoly Karpov.

Early in their illustrious careers he sponsored or trained US Women's Champion Irina Krush, US Men's Champion Hikaru Nakamura and 6 time US Scholastic Champion Daniel Edelman. In 1996 he coached the US team at the World Youth Championships in Cannes, France.

In Mr. Henley's own scholastic career, his University of South Florida won the 1977 Pan American Collegiate Championship with an unprecedented 8-O match score, and he also won the US Association of College Unions Individual Championship.  

Grandmaster Henley is a frequent lecturer at the Marshal Chess Club, NYC Chess Forum, Florida events and the National Open in Las Vegas.

Mr. Henley is author of numerous award winning books - Win Like Kasparov!, Crushing White: The DZINDZI INDIAN!,   Crushing White: The SNIPER!,    and World Champion Chess Tactics as well as Elista Diaries: Karpov-Kamsky 1996 and Anand Kramnik 2007 World Championships.      

Grandmaster Henley, in partnership with www.OnLineChessLessons.net, www.ChessOnDVD.com and TPT Press, has co-produced a number of highly acclaimed instructional and historical chess DVDs and YouTube videos.
